Notable K-12 progress in peer state reveals solutions for Oklahoma

The Nation’s Report Card for 2024 shows only one state performing higher on the Grade 4 Reading test of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) than before the pandemic. In 2019, Louisiana ranked 49th nationally for fourth- and eighth-grade reading scores on the NAEP; the latest results rank Louisiana at 16th and 29th respectively.
